Stephen will share insights into the Observatory’s Dark Skies Initiative and ongoing efforts to preserve the night skies of West Texas and the Big Bend region.

His presentation will highlight the creation of the Greater Big Bend International Dark Sky Reserve—the largest certified dark sky reserve in the world—and discuss how collaboration with communities, businesses, and industry can help protect this unique natural resource while supporting continued regional development.
